Óperenciás Tisza|COMPETITION FOR sneaker pimps & Tisza cipö | budapest
First Prize | 2006
This project won the competition of sneaker pimps and the Hungarian shoe company named after the river Tisza. They wanted a 100% Hungarian design on the given white sport shoe. It’s not only good to walk in these shoes, but also to walk around them. The idea was to illustrate a Hungarian folk-tale on the shoe. The tale is about a fisherman from the Tisza, who brings back the beloved, lost goldfish of the princess of Buda. The story starts on the left toe-cap and after, it passes it by it spans to the right pair. The line of the tale finishes on the right shoe in a lying eight shape. The main motive of the comic-like illustrated folk-tale is the river Tisza which waves around both shoes. The geometric but demotic characters use the seams and structure of the shoe as a landscape. They adapt their self to it and exploit the opportunities offered by the topology of the shoe.
